The exhibition brings together 90 works by M. C. Escher — including engravings, watercolors, woodcuts, and lithographs — offering a rich and layered reading of the artist’s sources of inspiration. The journey traces Escher’s evolution from his early years, influenced by Art Nouveau, through his discovery of Italian landscapes, and into his artistic maturity, defined by tessellations, metamorphic cycles, optical illusions, and reflections on infinity.
At the heart of the show is Escher’s unmistakable visual language: a fascinating balance between art and mathematics, imagination and rigorous structure, which continues to captivate audiences across disciplines.
The tour offers an insightful experience led by a MUDEC specialist, providing clear context on the works, the artist’s development, and the ideas behind the images.
