About this giro

Join us for a walk through Isola, one of Milan’s most fascinating and dynamic neighborhoods — a place where old traditions and modern life blend in unexpected ways. Once part of the Corpi Santi — rural villages that encircled Milan until the late 1800s — Isola has transformed into a creative hub, yet still retains the soul of a tight-knit community with a rich artisanal legacy.

Led by our expert guide Debbie, we’ll explore this unique district through its stories, its contrasts, and — most importantly — its people. You’ll step inside the workshops of local artisans who carry forward traditional skills with passion and originality. Meet the team behind Uroburo, a jewelry studio that champions ethical practices; Bertucci & Romani, where bookbinding becomes design; and Laboratorio Cagliani, a family-run atelier restoring antique furniture since 1936. These visits aren’t just stops on a map — they’re moments of real connection, where you’ll hear directly from the makers and gain rare insight into their work and world.

As we make our way through colorful streets and hidden courtyards, Debbie will help us uncover how Isola’s layered identity — once working-class and now distinctly cosmopolitan — makes it unlike anywhere else in Milan. And of course, we’ll add a sweet note with a stop at a gelateria artigianale, because discovery is even better with gelato in hand.

This is more than a walking tour — it’s an invitation to experience the creative heartbeat of Milan, one story, one craft, and one conversation at a time.
